Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation and corporate accounting, with a strong understanding of estate, state, and trust tax matters. This role requires a thorough knowledge of preparing tax returns, international tax exposure, and experience working with K-1s. The Senior Tax Accountant will work on a hybrid schedule, providing flexibility while maintaining a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals, corporations, estates, and trusts, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage corporate accounting tasks, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Handle international tax issues and provide support for clients with cross-border operations.
- Prepare K-1s and oversee the tax requirements for estates and trusts.
- Conduct tax research using Checkpoint and CCC software to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.
- Assist with light travel needs for client meetings, as necessary.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay updated on current tax laws and industry trends.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation and corporate accounting.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks; familiarity with tax research tools such as Checkpoint; strong knowledge of tax regulations concerning estates, trusts, and international transactions; ability to prepare and review K-1s without supervision; excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; strong communication and organizational skills.
